In this new COVID-19 reality of ours, we all know disinfecting our workspaces will be a bigger priority than ever. But which disinfecting products can we trust to kill pathogens like the human coronavirus? It’s time to meet your new friend, “List N”.
Created by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), List N catalogs all the products that meet the EPA’s stringent criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Someproducts on the list have also been further tested and proven effective against other potentially threatening pathogens. These products can be identified by the word “Yes” in the column titled “Emerging Viral Pathogens”. While the EPA does not endorse specific products, the agency only includes products in List N that it fully expects will be effective against SARS-CoV-2 when used correctly. That’s why it’s critical to read and follow all directions on the product’s label.
You may notice that some products you regularly use for cleaning and sanitizing are not included on the list. For instance, hand sanitizers and soap do not appear there. This is because those products are regulated by the FDA, not the EPA. Only disinfectants and wipes intended for use on surfaces—not human skin—are included on List N.
For your convenience, here are some products carried by Prestige that do appear on List N:
Sani-Cloth Super (purple lid), AFL (grey lid)
