Uncovering the Differences Between Masks

Disposable face masks come in a dizzying variety of designs, fits and filtration levels, made for a wide spectrum of uses. Making matters even more complicated, some unscrupulous manufacturers are taking advantage of the current COVID-19 crisis to flood the market with extremely low-quality masks that offer little to no protection. As a professional clinician, how do you choose a mask that’s appropriate for your needs?

At Prestige, we’ve tried to make the decision easier by hand-selecting a few dependable high-quality options. All of these masks are made by Crosstex, a proven brand medical professionals have relied on for years, and a company that manufactures all of its products in the USA.

Choose from the following options:

Isolator Plus N95 Particulate Respirator

These are the well-known “N95” masks you’ve likely heard about. However, before you select this option, you should know that these masks are really designed to provide maximum protection for clinicians treating patients who have been medically diagnosed with an airborne disease, such as TB or COVID-19. Also, an N95 “mask” is technically a respirator and must be used in accordance with all OSHA regulations regarding respiratory protection. Some users find it difficult to breathe through these masks especially after wearing for long periods.

Additional specs:

  • PFE = 99.9% @0.1 micron (Particulate Filtration Efficiency)
